What happens to Structured Settlement and the Annuity payment in the event of Death?

Even if the original defendant party dies, the income to the claimant will not be hampered. It will continue like any other normal payments from the agreement! But, if the claimant dies, often the payments stop there and then. In order to avoid losses for the surviving family members, the settlement agreement can be so arranged so as to continue to provide the compensation in installments to the family of the deceased claimant. This would ensure that any payments to be made after the death of the claimant would be paid in whole on the scheduled/pre-decided dates to the nominated beneficiary like a family member or the spouse of the deceased claimant.
